AONL urges nurse leaders to advocate for relief bill measures

This week AONL issued an advocacy alert for measures in the $1.92 trillion COVID-19 stimulus package advanced by the House Committee on the Budget titled American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The bill includes several nursing provisions, among them $200 million for scholarships and loans through the Nurse Corps program serving underserved areas; $80 million for mental and behavioral health training; and $7.66 billion for the public health workforce. Additional funding for testing, tracing and vaccinating the public against COVID-19 also is included.
