Quality organizations join coalition to integrate digital SDOH data

The National Committee for Quality Assurance, the Joint Commission and the National Quality Forum joined the Sync for Social Needs coalition. The quality organizations aim to integrate digital social determinants of health data for exchange across health records using a more standardized approach. Health care organizations currently use a variety of instruments to screen for the SDOH. The quality organizations believe health care organizations should use a “more limited set of valid and reliable instruments.” (Joint Commission news release, 2/20/23)
