Nursing schools expand enrollment
Several nursing schools are expanding enrollment to address shortages. Galen College of Nursing has grown to 19 campuses, including its newest campus in Roanoke, Va., plus an online program. Illinois State University Mennonite College of Nursing in Normal began construction on an $18 million, 16,000 square-foot simulation center, which will enable the college to increase enrollment by 400 students. In addition, the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson started construction on a new 106,000 square-foot nursing school that will enable a 25% increase in enrollment.
