Nurses issue call to action on heart health
In response to the 2020 Surgeon General's Call to Action to Control Hypertension, 11 nursing leaders joined forces to identify the roles nurses play in improving hypertension control and cardiovascular health. They published their findings and a call to action this month in Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing. The call includes actions nurses can take when caring for individuals, promoting prevention and advocating on behalf of communities. Hypertension, a precursor to heart disease, affects nearly half of all U.S. adults. (HealthLeaders Media article, 2/21/22)
