New Nurse Licensure Compact rules announced
Starting Jan. 2, 2024, a nurse who holds a compact license and moves to another compact state will need to apply for a new license within 60 days of relocating, according to revised Nurse Licensure Compact rules. The Interstate Commission of Nurse Licensure Compact Administrators says the change provides clarification to nurses who relocate and benefits nurse employers by ensuring all employees are appropriately licensed. The NLC website contains FAQs and a brief video about the new rule. (NCSBN news release, 10/31/23)
