NCC welcomes Congress, highlights nursing priorities

The Nursing Community Coalition welcomed representatives and senators to the 119th Congress. In a letter, the NCC outlined its priorities, including reauthorizing the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development programs and supporting the National Institute of Nursing Research. Should Congress consider reforming the National Institutes of Health, the NCC urges members to retain NINR as an independent Institute, saying an independent NINR is “critical to developing new evidence-based practice to care for all patients.” The NCC also notes its support for maternal health, public and population health, veteran’s health, mental health, supporting the well-being of the workforce, preventing workplace violence and removing unnecessary barriers to care. AONL is one of 64 members comprising the NCC. (NCC House letter, 1/17/25)
