Hospital health equity efforts detailed

Joanne Conroy, MD, American Hospital Association board chair, describes the health equity efforts of organizations that recently received the 2024 Dick Davidson NOVA Award for creating and sustaining healthy environments in their communities. The projects range from an online directory of roughly 5,000 community-based organizations that can assist patients with food insecurity, housing insecurity and transportation barriers to a program providing support for survivors of assaults, stabbings or shootings and guiding them toward a path of healing and safety. Applications for the 2025 Dick Davidson NOVA Award will open Aug. 19. (AHA News article, 7/8/24)
