Health systems to improve care through research-based strategies
The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute has selected 42 health systems to participate in a $50 million multiyear initiative to implement evidence-based strategies in health care delivery. Each participant can apply to receive up to $500,000 in initial funding for their projects, with future funding opportunities ranging from $500,000 to $5 million per project. The variety of participating health systems, representing a wide range of care settings and populations, will develop and implement viable strategies to advance the adoption of new evidence in health care delivery. The program’s goal is to reduce the 17-year lag between the publication of results and their uptake in practice. PCORI will announce the awards this summer. (PCORI news release, 3/2/23)
