Grants awarded to develop nurse-led innovations
The American Nursing Foundation gave $14 million to 10 three-year pilot programs to test nursing-led innovations, with the goal of scaling them. One project led by Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York seeks to combine nursing expertise with artificial intelligence to create prediction models to improve patient outcomes. CUIMC is partnering with three health systems to test an implementation toolkit to support large-scale adoption of the tool. Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del., is deploying five robots that make deliveries and perform other non-clinical tasks to allow nurses to spend more time caring for patients.
