Embracing limitations can help leaders overcome problems

Leaders who address self-limiting beliefs and think creatively can find new ways to approach systemic problems, said internationally recognized multimedia artist Phil Hansen during the closing keynote at AONL 2023. Hansen, who developed his signature approach to art after developing a nerve condition causing his hand to shake, now embraces unconventional approaches in his art, such as using coffee, food and even matches to create images. “Every challenge we face is composed of both a limitation and a self-limiting belief,” Hansen said. If individuals are willing to confront self-limiting beliefs, they can see possibilities outside of their limits and ultimately overcome challenges, he said.
