Advancing professional governance can improve health outcomes

An article in the July/August issue of the Journal of Nursing Administration discusses a book on nursing professional governance, edited by AONL faculty and staff and published in partnership with AONL. Professional Governance for Nursing: The Framework for Accountability, Engagement and Excellence updates the foundations and elements of professional governance and strives to get the next generation of nurses invested. The book stresses nurses need to understand the role of nursing professional governance in all settings where nurses practice. It advocates for nurses leading local, systemic and societal efforts to advance health policy and  practice to improve quality of life.
