AONL Issues Guiding Principles on Digital Transformation

AONL this week released six guiding principles on nursing leaders’ role in digital transformation. The organization believes nursing leaders must position themselves as leaders who collaborate and lead within health care and with industry counterparts. The guiding principles stress the importance of equipping nurse leaders with vital skills to support and lead digital health strategies and transformations to enhance outcomes for patients, nurses and the nation’s health care. They emphasize the importance of involving front-line health care workers in the selection and design of new technologies by forming a collaborative, interprofessional team comprising members from various departments to realize an organization’s return on investment.
