AHA, AONL join safe firearm storage campaign

The American Hospital Association and Association for Nursing Leadership joined with over 1,000 hospitals in the launch of Northwell Health’s public awareness campaign. The program ask parents to encourage family and friends to store firearms safely within their homes. Throughout the campaign, the impact of access to unlocked guns is highlighted and correlated with a higher number of children dying from gun violence than cancer or car accidents.
