AACN sees strong enrollment in entry-level nursing programs
Data released this week by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) showed student enrollment in entry-level bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) programs increased by 3.3% in 2021, despite concerns the pandemic might discourage career seekers from entering the profession. Enrollments in doctor of nursing practice (DNP) degree programs also grew by 4%, marking 20 years of continuous enrollment growth for both DNP and entry-level BSN programs. At the same time, enrollment declined in baccalaureate degree-completion programs (RN to BSN) and some graduate programs in 2021. (AACN news release, 4/5/22)
