Jonas, Sigma partner to further nursing research
This week, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and Jonas Philanthropies announced the launch of the Sigma/Jonas Philanthropies collaborative research grant. Three $10,000 awards will support nursing research aimed at improving health care for vulnerable citizens in the United States. Currently licensed registered nurses pursuing doctoral degrees are eligible to apply. Proposed research projects must address a pressing health care issue in the area of mental health, rural health or veterans’ health care. Special consideration will be given to Jonas Scholars and Sigma members. The application deadline is Dec. 1, 2019. “We are thrilled to partner with Sigma to move toward a better future by supporting early career researchers and emerging leaders committed to the country’s underserved populations,” said Wanda Montalvo, PhD, RN, executive director of Jonas Nursing and Veterans Healthcare, the signature program of Jonas Philanthropies.
