Georgia adopts tax credit for nursing preceptors
Georgia has adopted a tax incentive program to support clinical training opportunities for nurses. The Preceptor Tax Incentive Program goes into effect July 1. It provides a tax credit to licensed advanced practice providers who provide clinical training; previously only physicians were compensated for being preceptors. The program is intended to increase the number of nursing students who can be trained by providing an adequate number of clinical nursing educators. (Campaign for Action article, 4/29/19)
