Article explores how nurse leaders can support innovation
To spur nursing innovation, nurse leaders should develop and sustain front-line nursing innovation programs, according to an April Nurse Leader article. AONL member and lead author Gregory Eichelzer, DNP, RN, a nursing innovation administrator at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, describes how Cedars-Sinai developed an electronic innovation submissions platform and created a pathway for nurses to increase their participation in the hospital’s innovation division. Nurse leaders also developed a digital education platform to house a virtual reality library in Cedars-Sinai’s innovation center for nursing transformation. A nurse-led committee reviewed 12 submissions, with four ideas receiving mentoring before applicants submitted their proposals.
