EHRs, CDC tools help providers combat measles
Hospitals and health systems in New York, Illinois, California and Texas are using electronic health records and online screening tools to identify and contact unvaccinated patients in an effort to contain the measles outbreak, Reuters reports. In addition, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has developed a Measles Outbreak Toolkit for Healthcare Providers. It contains resources providers and their staffs can use to increase the effectiveness of their conversations with parents about the importance of vaccination.
