AHA, CAPC introduce resource hub for advancing palliative care
This month, the American Hospital Association (AHA) and the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC) launched a Palliative Care Support Hub, which gives hospitals and health systems a framework for assessing, measuring and expanding palliative care services. Research shows that when patients with serious illness receive the right kind of care, hospitals and health systems improve outcomes, gain efficiencies, lower staff burnout and reduce spending. The roughly 12.4 million Americans who are living with serious illness could benefit from palliative care that manages their symptoms and pain and helps them achieve their care goals.
