Academy, Jonas partner to modernize Policy Scholars Program

The American Academy of Nursing and Jonas Philanthropies have formed a partnership to modernize the Jonas Policy Scholars Program. Launched in 2014, the program provides scholars with a two-year experience focused on mentoring, policy and engagement. A $180,000 grant to the Academy from Jonas Philanthropies and the Jonas Center for Nursing and Veterans Healthcare will fund two cohorts. The updated program will include a three-day policy immersive session in Washington, D.C., and development of the National Policy Mentoring Council. Scholars also will have the opportunity to work directly with policy staff at the Academy to advance the organization’s policy priorities. (American Academy of Nursing news release, 8/1/19)
