Title VIII Reauthorization Bill Advances to House Floor

Legislation to reauthorize federal nursing workforce development programs through fiscal year 2024 advanced from the House Energy and Commerce Committee to the House floor this week.H.R. 728, the Title VIII Nursing Workforce Reauthorization Act, is supported by AONL and the 61 other members of the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC). Rep. David Joyce, R-Oh., the bill’s sponsor, said, “Nurses are the backbone of our nation’s health care system, and any challenge they face hurts the health and wellbeing of the American people.” In a news release, NCC thanked Joyce and applauded the efforts of others in Congress who supported the bill.
