AONL Announces Recipients of Annual Membership Awards

The American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL) today announced the recipients of its 2022 awards, which highlight AONL members, a health system, a state affiliate and two honorary members demonstrating exemplary leadership practices. AONL will honor the recipients during its annual conference April 11-14 in San Antonio.
Atrium Health to Receive AONL Prism Diversity Award
The AONL Prism Award, sponsored by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, recognizes an organization that has advanced diversity efforts within the nursing profession, the community or organization. Atrium Health is a nationally recognized leader in shaping health outcomes through innovative research, education and compassionate patient care. Based in Charlotte, N.C., Atrium Health is an integrated, nonprofit health system with more than 70,000 teammates serving patients at 40 hospitals and more than 1,400 care locations.
Quintana to Receive the Pamela Austin Thompson Emerging Leader Award
The emerging leader award, named after AONL CEO Emeritus Pamela Austin Thompson, recognizes an engaged AONL member who exhibits significant potential as a future health care leader and demonstrates exemplary leadership within his or her organization, community and the nursing profession. Jessica Quintana, MSN, RN, is clinical nurse IV at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles.
Rivera to Receive AONL Exemplary Nurse Leadership Award
The AONL Exemplary Nurse Leadership Award recognizes a nurse leader who significantly influenced professional nursing practice, leadership and the professional development of others. Reynaldo Rivera, DNP, RN, is director of nursing research and innovations at New York-Presbyterian Hospital.
Joslin Insight Leaders to Receive the AONL Honorary Member Award
The AONL Honorary Member Award recognizes an individual who supports AONL’s mission and contributes to advancing health care through the association’s core business. Wanting to give back to nurses at the onset of the COVID-19, Daryl Joslin, executive advisor, and Hunter Joslin, president, at Joslin Insight, donated their services to study the pandemic’s impact on nurse leaders. Their work led to AONL’s three-part COVID-19 Longitudinal Study.
Organization of Nurse Leaders to Receive AONL Affiliate Achievement Award
The AONL Affiliate Achievement Award recognizes an AONL affiliate promoting nursing leadership and its influence in advancing nursing practice, patient safety, quality, recruitment and retention and serves as a model for other states or regions with similar interests. Organization of Nurse Leaders – Mass., R.I., N.H., Conn., Vt., which represents the five New England states, exhibited exemplary leadership in responding to challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic through advocacy, diversity and member service.
