Patient Safety Awareness Week begins March 8

To mark this year’s Patient Safety Awareness Week, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and its partners are urging organizations to show their commitment to patient safety by encouraging patient engagement with its free Ask Me 3 materials and recognizing patient safety champions on their teams. Organizations also may spread the word on social media by using the hashtag #PSAW20 and tagging @TheIHI. IHI and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality will also host a Twitter chat on safe care transitions on March 12 at noon ET. The Joint Commission is also celebrating Patient Safety Awareness Week and invites others to download its free Speak Up patient safety resources and to visit its patient safety topics webpage.
