Tri-Council welcomes WHO report on global state of nursing
The Tri-Council for Nursing applauded the release of State of the World’s Nursing 2020: Investing in Education, Jobs and Leadership, saying the document takes on added significance given the global pandemic. The report, prepared by the World Health Organization (WHO), brings together data from 191 countries to call for greater investment in nursing education, the creation of 6 million new nursing jobs and policies that allow nurses to work to the full extent of their education and training. AONL is a member of the Tri-Council, an alliance of five autonomous nursing organizations focused on leadership for education, practice and research. (NCSBN news release, 4/6/20)
