AONL is conducting a brief survey to measure nurse leaders’ perceptions of key concerns and challenges related to COVID-19. This is the second part of the Nursing Leadership COVID-19 Insight Study begun in July 2020. Initial results showed nurse leaders felt prepared for a COVID-19 surge. Other findings showed nursing staff received training on how to treat COVID-19 patients, and support from organizations and staff exceeded nurse leaders’ expectations. Reported challenges related to four key areas: communicating and implementing policy changes, surge staffing, staff well-being and access to personal protective equipment. Nurse leaders who received a follow-up survey are encouraged to respond before the survey closes on Feb. 17.
