Scam artists impersonate NCSBN staff

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) has received reports of telephone calls from persons falsely claiming to be NCSBN staff or law enforcement. These scam calls “spoofed” NCSBN telephone numbers, so they appeared to originate from NCSBN. In some cases, scammers falsely claimed a specific action was needed to prevent a nursing license from becoming suspended. In response, NCSBN issued a scam alert saying, NCSBN will never call to request personal information from a nurse, nurse applicant or anyone else.
