AHA’s Pollack Salutes Nurses in Extraordinary Times
Nurses are making a “monumental difference for patients, families and communities,” wrote Rick Pollack, president and chief executive officer of the American Hospital Association (AHA), as National Nurses Week 2020 got underway May 6. Pollack saluted, all nurses and called out their dedication and leadership on the front lines of COVID-19, praising them for “bravely confronting an invisible enemy with grace and strength that inspire countless communities.” Citing the World Health Organization’s State of the World’s Nursing 2020 report, he stressed the need to commit to investing in nursing education, jobs and leadership.
