Nurse Leaders from 37 States Attend AONL Advocacy Day
Nearly 240 nurse leaders from 37 states attended AONL’s virtual advocacy day on May 27, visiting their elected federal representatives and senators. Among the key issues, the nurse leader advocates urged Congress to include provisions to strengthen the health care workforce in infrastructure discussions. Speaking to attendees, AONL President Mary Ann Fuchs, DNP, RN, said, “You can help legislators and their staff understand that in order for our health care organizations to provide quality, safety and optimal patient care, it is critical our nation has a robust and diverse nursing workforce… It is vital policymakers hear directly from us, the nurse leaders on the front line of this pandemic and patient care.” For more information on AONL’s advocacy efforts, visit AONL’s advocacy webpage.
