NIEHS posts workforce trainings on reducing COVID-19 exposure
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) launched a website this month to provide resources and tools for workers at risk of exposure to COVID-19. The site will include virtual safety training for emergency medical and public-safety personnel; custodial, sanitation and food-service workers; and health care facility employees. Creation of the site was funded through a supplemental appropriation passed by Congress on March 6. NIEHS’s Worker Training Program previously helped with the Ebola response and its grantees provided trainings related to earlier influenza outbreaks. (NIH news release, 3/23/20)
