NCC calls on Congress to fund Title VIII, NINR

The Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) joined 60 other organizations, including AONL, in signing a letter to the House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Labor, Health and Human Services and Education, and related agencies requesting at least $278 million in funding for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs and at least $182 million for the National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR). The request iterates the essential nature of the programs and urges the subcommittees to continue to ensure federal resources for the nursing workforce, health care and research are sustained. Supplemental funding for these programs was also encouraged to support efforts to combat COVID-19. (NCC news release, 6/22/20)
