Mantram Repetition Program reduces stress
Researchers evaluated the efficacy of an Internet-based Mantram Repetition Program (MRP) for stress reduction and found positive results for nurses caring for hospitalized veterans. After receiving MRP training, nurses reported increased mindfulness, compassion, satisfaction, spiritual well-being and nursing presence. Patients also saw improvements, reporting they perceived high levels of nursing presence and were highly satisfied with their care. The authors asserted participating in an MRP could lessen the stress and burnout of nurses working on the front lines of patient care. (Nursing Outlook article, 2/8/21)
