Joint Commission starts cohort to combat sepsis
The Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare is asking health care systems to join an early adopter cohort that will begin using the Center’s Targeted Solutions Tool this October to combat sepsis. The tool reflects lessons learned from earlier center initiatives that produced 20% to 50% drops in mortality from sepsis at participating hospitals. The tool is designed to help health care organizations conduct their own sepsis projects; enter sepsis data; and get access to validated solutions based on the organization’s identified root causes. Participants will also receive immediate data analysis. Those with questions about joining the cohort should email Kelly Barnes. (Joint Commission Online story, 9/11/19)
