Health care execs prepare for a future with COVID-19
What will the new normal look like for hospitals? Healthcare Dive asked this question of health care executives and reviewed survey research to understand on how the COVID-19 pandemic is reshaping health care. Two-thirds of survey respondents believe hospitals are much better prepared for a resurgence of COVID-19 than they were at the start of the pandemic, in large part because government regulations have been relaxed. Nevertheless, they anticipate a state of emergency will continue until a cure or vaccine is available. More than half of executives are concerned about staffing, staff burnout and a seasonal rise in infections. Executives also expect to see care continue its shift into home and workplace settings.
