Future of Nursing report delayed to include pandemic information
In order to incorporate information related to the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on nursing, the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) delayed the release of its forthcoming Future of Nursing 2020-2030 report. In June, the report committee updated its task statement to account for “the dramatically changed context and rapidly deployed changes in clinical care, nurse education, nursing leadership, and nursing-community partnerships as a result of the pandemic.” Nurses working during the COVID-19 crisis are invited to contribute to their experiences by email for possible inclusion. NAM expects to release the report in spring 2021. (NAM news release, 7/21/20)
