FAAN Act would invest $1 billion in nursing education
The Future Advancement of Academic Nursing (FAAN) Act was reintroduced on Feb. 4 by Senate Nursing Caucus cochair, Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., and registered nurses and U.S. Reps. Lauren Underwood, D-Ill., and Eddie Bernice Johnson, D-Texas. The act would invest $1 billion to support nursing education during public health challenges such as the COVID-19 pandemic and would provide resources to boost student and faculty populations, support educational programming, modernize infrastructure and support partnerships and research at schools of nursing.
