COVID-19 nursing research highlights psychological support, rapid education
To support evidence-based nursing practice, the authors of a study in the February Nursing Outlook, used text mining to search the available literature on COVID-19 and other historical epidemics for information specific to nursing. The resulting literature repository contains 760 published papers with high-level summaries, which the authors created using natural language processing. The authors identified psychological support for nurses and the need for rapid high-impact education as the most frequently addressed topics. Nurse leaders and researchers can use the repository to search for nursing-related evidence in a less time-intensive way.
