COVID-19: AHA takes actions to support members, further policy
The American Hospital Association (AHA) is tracking federal action in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and providing timely information and helpful resources, which members can easily locate on a dedicated webpage. Highlights this week included coverage of congressional action to support families affected by the virus; notice of a CDC COVID-19 FAQ page for health care professionals; and CMS guidance and a bulletin from the Office of Civil Rights at the Department of Health and Human Services explaining changes to HIPAA rule enforcement related to telehealth. In addition, the association continues to advocate for the current and anticipated needs of its members during this public health crisis. “The AHA continues to call on Congress to work on a comprehensive funding strategy to ensure that hospitals, health systems, and our frontline caregivers are directly supported for preparedness and response,” AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack said in a statement.
