Column discusses strategies to overcome stressors
Writing in the February Nursing Management, AONL member Caryl Goodyear, PhD, RN, gave nurse leaders clear strategies for coping with the stressors “rearing their ugly heads during the pandemic.” She urged readers to care for themselves—physically, emotionally and spiritually—and to develop competence in “self-leadership.” This involves trust and confidence in oneself as well as self-reliance. “You know better than anyone your ability to assess your needs and manage them in a way that promotes health for you and those around you,” Goodyear wrote.
