Begley, nurse leaders speak to concerns about inadequate PPE
Nurses are speaking out about shortages of masks and other equipment, and mainstream media outlets are listening. "We know the current supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE) are inadequate, leaving health care workers worried about protecting themselves," Robyn Begley, DNP, RN, AONL chief executive officer and American Hospital Association senior vice president and chief nursing officer told USA Today. "Increased availability of rapid testing and PPE are both necessary for our health care workers and patients." The American Hospital Association has joined with the American Medical Association and the American Nurses Association to urge the federal government to use the Defense Production Act and other means at its disposal to quickly increase supplies.
