AONL-backed nominee appointed to PTAC

This week, the Government Accountability Office announced the appointment of three new members to the Physician-Focused Payment Model Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC). Among them is Lauran Hardin, MSN, RN, whom AONL and other nursing organizations backed for the appointment. The organizations praised Hardin as a “trailblazer in both palliative and complex care, [who] has made a significant impact on care delivery for health systems, communities, government agencies and insurance companies.” Hardin serves as the senior advisor for partnership and technical assistance at the National Center for Complex Health and Social Needs, which is part of the Camden (N.J.) Coalition of Healthcare Providers. Congress established PTAC in 2015 to advise the Secretary of Health and Human Services on physician payment models. (GAO news release, 7/28/20)
