AONL supports CDC ‘Mothers and Babies’ funding in next COVID-19 bill
AONL joined with other organizations concerned about the health and well-being of mothers, infants and families to urge Congress to invest in national surveillance of COVID-19’s impact on maternal and infant health. In a joint letter, the groups requested $100 million for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Surveillance for Emerging Threats to Mothers and Babies initiative in the next COVID-19 response package. The request is in keeping with AONL’s support for the American Hospital Association’s efforts to work with hospitals to reduce maternal mortality.
