AONL Revises Board Nominations Process
AONL announced the revision of its board nominations process this week, with changes to eligibility criteria, position descriptions and terms of office. “We believe the revised eligibility criteria will assist in fostering a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion,” said AONL Board President Mary Ann Fuchs, DNP, RN, vice president of patient care services and system chief nurse executive at Duke University Health System, Durham, N.C. One eligibility change involves the removal of the requirement that candidates for president-elect have prior board experience, which will expand the pool of qualified applicants. Among other changes, the board approved extending the president and president-elect terms of office to two years and temporarily changing the terms of office for board members from regions 1, 3 and 6.
