AONL, NCC Unite in Fight Against Racism and Injustice

AONL joined with the Nursing Community Coalition (NCC) and its individual member organizations in voicing support for the fight against racial inequality and injustice. A joint statement praised nurses and nursing students engaged in peaceful protests and expressed a willingness to work for “impactful and meaningful policy change to create a more equitable society.” In a separate statement, AONL wrote, “It is incumbent upon [nurse leaders] to harness our influence to challenge and change the attitudes and structures that perpetuate inequity. We share a commitment to the health of our communities, and together we must actively seek, embrace and promote solutions that make a difference.”
