AHA, AMA, ANA Urge Public to Wear Masks
In an open letter to the public, The American Hospital Association (AHA), the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Nurses Association (ANA) urged people to protect themselves, their neighbors and their loved ones during the worst global health crisis in generations. The letter cites the recent uptick in COVID-19 cases and ongoing shortages in personal protective equipment and testing supplies as together posing a dire threat to health care workers and patients. The three organizations entreat the American public to take the simple steps known to curtail the spread of the virus. These include: wearing a face mask, maintaining physical distancing and washing hands. (AHA joint letter, 7/6/20)
