AACN issues white paper on supporting diversity and inclusion

The American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) last month issued a white paper on implementing holistic admissions in academic nursing programs. The paper provides a roadmap for schools wanting to recruit students from underrepresented groups into the nursing profession. The paper also incorporates lessons learned while implementing holistic admissions processes at 50 schools of nursing. Using holistic admissions is considered a legal, evidence-based and effective strategy for diversifying a student body. (AACN news release, 12/15/21)
