Webinar features Penn State Health workforce plan

An American Hospital Association webinar will explore how Penn State Health leaders built a workforce plan to improve patient care through extreme challenges and market fluctuations. On April 25 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. ET, leaders from the Hershey, Pa.-based health system will describe the importance of using real-time data for informed critical decision-making processes and how technology can ensure the most effective critical staffing. Attendees will learn how and why having a strategic, sophisticated workforce plan is a critical staffing, financial and leadership benefit. In addition, they will learn proven strategies and successes to navigating the nursing shortage, such as using a float pool effectively, increasing retention, decreasing overtime and lowering turnover.
