University of Washington prioritizes antiracism in nursing
The University of Washington School of Nursing in Seattle is taking steps to confront racism in nursing, among them, the creation of a Center for Antiracism in Nursing. Writing in the August issue of Nursing Outlook, faculty leaders argued, “As the conscience and core of health care, nursing must play a central role in any serious attempt to deal with racism.” They said the center will be a catalyst for action and serve as “a hub to inspire and elevate ideas, knowledge, strategies, and research that improve health outcomes and health care experiences among communities of color.”
