Underwood, Merkley introduce FAAN Act

Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., and Rep. Lauren Underwood, D-Ill., this week introduced the Future Advancement of Academic Nursing Act (H.R.7266). The AONL-supported FAAN Act invests in schools of nursing to ensure nursing education pathways and provides funding for partnerships with health care facilities, nurse-managed health clinics, community health centers and other facilities to expand clinical education opportunities. It also provides resources to hire and retain a diverse staff and to enroll and retain nursing students. The bill would modernize nursing curriculum, technology and simulation labs.  (Merkley news release, 2/8/24)
