Tech solutions improve home care delivery
AONL member Kathy Driscoll, MSN, RN, says telehealth services and remote patient monitoring assist health care practitioners and extend the reach of care to underserved and hard-to-reach communities. The senior vice president and CNO of Humana in Louisville, Ky., believes telehealth platforms can increase interactions between providers and patients and enable better management of chronic diseases. Furthermore, she says voice-to-text technology has made patient records more accurate and speeded up record-keeping, enabling home health nurses to spend more time caring for patients. Virtual visits and remote diagnostics can provide high-quality care without the need for physical travel. Digital tools can offer efficiency and improved clinical data for nurses, while empowering patients by making it easy for them to access their health information and clinicians.
