Survey: Medical costs, access among Americans top health concerns
Americans said improving affordability and access to health care is a top priority, with survey participants across party lines saying the federal government should play a key role. Among participants, 25% ranked improving health care access and affordability as their top health care issue, and 52% listed it among their top three issues. Three-quarters of participants who said it was a top priority said the federal government would better address it than state governments. Among Republicans, 56% said health care practitioners were their top trusted sources, while 60% of Democrats said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was their top source. Gallup and Emory University conducted the survey from Dec. 2-15, 2024; the sample size was 2,121 adults. (The Hill article, 2/5/25)
